Gaming Alerts announces the exciting re-launch of its bingo portal, BingoAlerts.co.uk.

The traditional game of bingo has increased in popularity, especially in the UK with over 100 varieties of bingo websites available.

Leading bookmakers, such as William Hill have already capitalized on the new upward trends through the launch of branded bingo sites.

The traditional game of bingo which has previously appealed to females has been cleverly remarketed as an online game accessible to all ages and genders.

The St Minver Group, who currently runs sites for major brands Virgin Bingo and Butlins Bingo, have done extensive research showing that men have been hooked on the game, but still use female passwords to enter the sites.

Bingo Alerts gives players the chance to be one step ahead of the game for offering reviews of the best bingo sites, the latest news, offers, and bonuses brought directly to a small window on your desktop.

COO of software provider, Skinkers, Rob Noble, said, “Skinkers is delighted to be working so closely with Gaming Alerts. It’s refreshing to work with such an innovative team who understand their industry and work hard to look after all of their clients.”

The site is currently offering players £5 free for registering with leading site Bingos.co.uk, via bingo alerts, and also offering a further £15 following a deposit to the site.

David Beckham a Favorite to be Spotted First in UK’s Super Casino

Friday, February 9th, 2007

Source: http://www.gambling911.com/David-Beckham-020907.html

Leave it up to those Euro bookies.  Paddy Power has made glamour boy footballer, David Beckham among the favorites to be spotted first in UK’s first ever super casino.  He’s a 4-1 favorite at PaddyPower.com though Wayne Rooney does have slightly shorter odds at 3-1.

Beckham would pay out £400 for every £100 bet.

PaddyPower has listed odds for Cristiano Ronaldo at 6 to 1, and Alex Ferguson, Roman Abramovich, Jose Mourinho, all at 8 to 1.

Since Shilpa Shetty seems to be making an appearance just about everywhere, her 50 to 1 odds offer some pretty good value we dare say.

Jade Goody, meanwhile, was listed with odds of 100 to 1.

Great Britain’s new super casino is all the rage these days but it’s not without some degree of controversy.

Since the campaign launch, more than 1,400 signatures have been collected through The Gazette’s website and hundreds of readers have also signed petitions and coupons available through the paper.

UK government asked to rethink supercasino choice

Thursday, February 8th, 2007

Source: http://www.jackpot.co.uk/online-casino-news/government-rethink-casino-070207.html

Eighteen MP’s have signed up to a Commons motion expressing “surprise and regret” that the Casino Advisory Panel (CAP) ignored Blackpool’s submission for the UK’s first supercasino, despite the northern seaside town being many people’s favourites to win.

Since last Tuesday’s announcement that CAP would recommend Manchester to the government, shock turned to anger and now anger has materialised into action.

The Commons motion, led by Fleetwood and Blackpool North’s MP Joan Humble, calls for the decision to be analysed scrupulously by the same committee that oversaw the draft Gambling Bill. The motion is also backed up by a petition which has been set up by the Blackpool Gazette. More than 2,000 readers signed up to the campaign to push for the government to further examine Blackpool’s case before the final vote on the decision is made.

Blackpool is widely seen as requiring urgent regeneration, with the once-foremost seaside town seeing a dramatic loss in local investment and tourist visits dropping by seven million over the past 15 years.

If Blackpool fails in their effort to overturn the recommendation, it will be necessary for it to seek other methods of attracting investment and encouraging regeneration since the government has announced that there will be only one super-casino during their current tenure of Parliament.

888 Holdings plc, the London-quoted owner of Pacific Poker, has struck a poker league deal with Georgica plc, the owner of Rileys, which is the UK’s largest chain of snooker, pool and poker clubs.

The arrangement between the parties amounts to a co-operation agreement whereby 888 will use its online poker capabilities to support Rileys’ website and clubs throughout the UK.

The arrangement between the parties amounts to a co-operation agreement whereby 888 will use its online poker capabilities to support Rileys’ website and clubs throughout the UK.

The deal is initially to run for three years during which time 888 and Rileys will work together to develop the www.rileyspoker.com website, which will be powered by 888com. 888’s poker site will be promoted by Rileys in their clubs, to their 525,000 members and externally in new club member recruitment.

Under the terms of this poker-related deal, 888 and Rileys will develop a series of online and offline attractions including poker league tables, regional events and a televised national poker tournament. This is claimed to be the first combined online and offline poker offering of its kind in the UK.

Georgica has already begun holding live poker tournaments in its Rileys snooker and pool members clubs, and hopes to have live poker operating in around a hundred of its clubs by Easter. In addition to its online support, 888 will provide assistance and technical support for the roll out and running of these live, face-to-face poker tournaments.

There are already common themes in play between 888.com and Georgica, centring around snooker. 888.com is the principal sponsor of the 888.com World Snooker Championship as well as the leading players, Ronnie O’Sullivan and Ding Junhui, while Rileys runs the UK’s leading chain of snooker and pool clubs.

With snooker players being amongst the highest profile poker-playing celebrities in the UK, this appears to be a sensible strategy for both parties given the growing trend and relaxation in laws in social poker.

Gigi Levy, the Chief Executive Officer of 888 Holdings plc said:

“This is a hugely exciting and ground-breaking partnership for 888 which allows us to offer a unique poker proposition to the gaming market. 888 and Rileys customers will have access to a multitude of innovative gaming alternatives unparalleled in the offline and online poker world, where customers are able to be part of a community of poker players that meet to play live poker both online and offline.”

Peter Haspel, Managing Director of Georgica plc commented:

“Our move to provide both live and online poker tournaments to the members of Rileys clubs represents an exciting opportunity for Georgica as part of its continued strategy to grow and expand the Rileys business. The agreement with 888 for the provision of online poker and assistance with the roll out of live poker gives Rileys access to the wealth of experience that 888 have in both online and offline poker and online marketing.”
