ALMOST 50 years of playing bingo has finally paid off for a west Cumbrian woman, who scooped more than £100,000 playing her favourite game.
The 66-year-old has been playing bingo since she was 18 and loves the game so much she plays seven days a week.
While holidaying in Scunthorpe with a friend, they were at the Gala Club in the Madford Retail Park when good fortune struck.
After completing a full house in 36 numbers the lowest call in any of the 500 clubs nationwide she won the National Bingo Game prize of £100,000, plus the regional prize of £1,170 and the house prize of £127.
I once won £1,000, but I couldnt believe it when I realised how much I had won this time, said the stunned winner. Im still in shock, but highly delighted.
The pensioner, who has two children and three grandchildren, is sticking to an agreement she made with her friend to halve the money, using her share to pay off her mortgage and treat her family.
