The Grosvenor UK Poker Tour commenced in January ’07 in the Lancashire town of Bolton at one of GovernorsÂ’ newest poker venues. Walsall, London and Brighton all play host as the tour makes further monthly pit stops in these well known poker venues. This weekend the GUKPT will be held at the G Casino Bury New Road in Manchester.
The GUKPT boasts a combined prize pool of more than GBP4 million, which has captured the imagination of poker fans during its inaugural year.
The GUKPT tour started in Bolton in January and since then has moved to Walsall in February and Cardiff in March. The Cardiff tournament was won by former Eastenders actor Michael Greco who took down a first prize of GBP100,000. The Manchester tournament (19-22 April) is the fourth in the series before the tour moves to Brighton next month.
June is a rest month, but in July the action restarts as the tour takes in Newcastle, Luton, Plymouth, Cardiff and Blackpool before heading back to London in December for the Grand Final and end of year bash.
